Hot, expensive, and full. The Path of the Gods at midday is a mistake. Ferries are frequent; rooms are not.
October–April
Some hotels and boats close. Cheaper, greyer, still beautiful from a terrace. Pompeii and Naples work year-round if the coast is shut.
