Best Time to Visit Bali
Dry season, wet season, crowds and prices — exactly when to plan your Bali itinerary for the best weather and value.
Dry season vs wet season
Bali is tropical and warm all year (27–32°C), but it has two clear seasons. The dry season runs April to October — sunny skies, calm seas and low humidity — and is the best time to visit Bali for beaches, island-hopping and treks. The wet season (November to March) brings short, heavy afternoon downpours, lush green scenery and lower prices.
The sweet spots
May, June and September are the ideal months — dry, sunny and just before or after the July–August peak, so resorts and flights are cheaper and the sights are quieter. July and August have the best weather but the highest prices and biggest crowds, especially around Indian school holidays.
Travelling in the wet season
Don’t write off November to March. Rain usually falls in sharp afternoon bursts, mornings are often clear, the rice terraces are at their greenest, and you’ll find genuine bargains on a Bali honeymoon package or family stay. Just keep beach days flexible and book a few indoor activities.
When to book from India
Flights from India to Denpasar (DPS) are cheapest 6–10 weeks ahead and outside the December and May–June Indian holiday peaks. Indians get visa-on-arrival in Bali, so the main planning is around weather and price — aim for the April–October dry season for a first trip.
