About Lantau Island & Big Buddha

Lantau is Hong Kong’s largest island and its green, spiritual counterpoint to the city. The 25-minute Ngong Ping 360 cable car floats over forested hills to the 34-metre Tian Tan Big Buddha, one of the world’s largest seated bronze Buddhas, beside the working Po Lin Monastery and the stilted fishing village of Tai O.
