Stay in Chora. Day-trip the beaches. Hotel-hopping on this island is wasted time — the town is the place you came to walk.
Chora (Mykonos Town)
White lanes, churches, Little Venice, and the working town. Lose the map for an hour in the morning. This is where you sleep if you want to walk to the windmills and dinner. Boutique hotels and smaller rooms fill first in summer.
Windmills and Little Venice
The two names on every postcard. They sit at the edge of town — a walk, not a separate hotel. Kato Mili is the mill row; Little Venice is the sea-balcony strip. See both at opposite ends of the day if you can.
Beaches
Pick one bay for the afternoon. Ornos and Agios Ioannis for swimming; Paradise and Super Paradise for the club scene; quieter coves if you have a car. You do not need to collect beaches like stamps.
Ano Mera
The inland village with a monastery and a square that still feels like a Cycladic town rather than a resort. A short bus or taxi if Chora’s shops feel finished. Lunch here is a useful contrast to Little Venice at dusk.
