The museum does not have a season. The floating torii does.
March–May and October–November
Kind walking, the same museum, better island weather. Sakura in the park is possible in late March.
June–August
Humid. Start the museum at opening. The ferry still runs. Hydrate on Mt Misen; skip the hike in peak heat if you must.
December–February
Quieter museum, cooler island. The torii still floats on the tide. Pack a coat for the ferry deck.
