Maafushi is a year-round island. The constraint is the crossing and the visibility, not a closed bikini beach.
November–April
Dry, calmer seas, better snorkelling. This is when most Indian travellers come. Book the speedboat with the guesthouse in peak weeks (December–January).
May–October
Afternoon rain, choppier crossings, lower rates. The island still works. Whale sharks in South Ari remain a separate hop — Maafushi is not Dhigurah.
Ramadan
Respect fasting hours in the village. Some cafés adjust. The bikini beach still opens. Ask your guesthouse what changes that year.
