Stay west, not only in Patong
Kata and Karon save your sleep. Patong is a night out, not a four-night address for most visitors.
Insurance and helmets
Travel insurance must explicitly cover motorbikes. Wear a helmet. Thai roads are not a place to learn.
Book boats for dry season
Phi Phi and Phang Nga fill in December–February. In the monsoon, have a backup land day.
Jet-skis and tuk-tuks
Photograph rentals before use. Use Grab for airport and hotel runs. Tuk-tuks are the tourist-price option.
